Formula Renault Race 3 Sugo

02.09.2018

The Formula Renault Race 3 at Sugo was one of those tracks you really need some practice on before the main race. I had not practiced for this race thinking my knoege of the track would be fine from other Simulations. But, I soon found out that this race was all about attrition, it was a very bumpy Suga track, which surprised me as I have never driven on the track before in Rfactor 2. This was evident with huge bump just before the main straight that caught out many drivers.

My best Qualification time was not good enough for the top 10 this round, although I did have a controlled race, just a couple times going off the track due to huge understeer over the bumpy corners. I finished in 8thposition, thus gaining some points which was a good result overall. I did have a close battle for 8thspot on the last lap with Carlos Limjoco of Archon Racing; which caused us both to bump wheels side by side on that bumpy straight.

We have one more race to go in this Series at Suzuka.

Denis Hawkins: 13th in the Series standings after Sugo.
